Coffee for Tess Here's my take on this week's sketch at Just Add Ink . I had so ... much fun putting this one together. It's a combination of an idea I've had for ages plus an idea from my lovely friend, Amanda. I was waiting for the right time to make a card using the sentiment, "Chocolate, coffee, men - some things are better rich" and show the three said 'objects' but was always stuck for an idea on how I was going to 'stamp' the chocolate. Up until the last minute it was going to be a chocolate cupcake until I remembered about the DSP from 'Good Morning Sunshine' - perfect! Amanda and I had talked about ways we could use 'Tess' other than with her collection of stamp supplies and she came up with the coffee cup and matching sentiment. # 1 # 2 I think # 1 has more appeal. What do you think? I'm knee deep in SWAPS at the moment and at the same time I'm thinking about what to do for this week's Just Add Ink DTM submission! My last post which showed cards made from the Scallop Circle Die got me thinking about why I find it so difficult to do SIMPLE (They were SWAP reject ideas by the way). I went to my computer and decided to upload the last two cards into my Splitcoast Gallery and I came across this card here . I really liked the simplicity of it and thought I'd ink up my new Hostess Level 2 Set - 'Asian Artistry' and give the idea a go! I'm super duper pleased with myself that I did a ONE LAYERED CARD! Yay! I think I might even do a handful as SWAPS for people that love the clean and simple approach to card making. Vintage Girl Here's a tutorial I have put together to show you how to combine a few techniques to make a Vintage Picture/Scrapbook Page or Card. Step1: Soak your crocheted flowers and twill tape in a bowl of coffee. Remove and let them dry. If you're in a hurry, use a heat gun to dry them (Don't get it too close to your embellishments). Step 2: For the FAUX LINEN look, get a piece of White Glossy Cardstock and sandpaper it both ways - horizontally and vertically. Step 3: Print out a photo or an image from your computer onto the cardstock. Here's a close up of the image with the faux linen look. I downloaded this free image from the Graphics Fairy . Step 4: Mask the image with a cut out and place the Wheel Guide over it ready to roll the 'Very Vintage' Wheel stamp over the top. Step 5: Using a cartridge filled with a few drops of Sahara Sand Ink Refill, roll the wheel stamp across the masked picture. Step 6: Repeat as many times as necessary to cov...

Vintage Girl This is my Vintage Theme inspired 'scrapbook' page made using a chipboard picture frame. It will be a present for Lisi when she opens her own shop called, 'Miss Vintage' in Perth, Tasmania, very soon! The smaller crocheted flowers are from the retired SU Summer Mini Catalogue, but the large crocheted one was made especially for this project by my very talented friend, Andrea H (All of them, plus the twill tape was dyed with coffee). The rose was made by twisting twill tape onto cardstock secured by sticky strip. Amanda, at Just Add Ink, has a great tutorial on how to make these. The hat pin and pearls are from the SU Pretties' Kit. The ruffled ribbon is made from SU twill tape and gathered on the sewing machine. Scallop Circle Upsy Daisy Card If you haven't already heard, there's a new mini catalogue out this month and it has some fantastic new products!!! Last weekend, I started to play around with the new Scallop Circle Die, new Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and the new colour, Rich Razzleberry. I'm in love! I'm fine tuning some ideas for SWAPS so they will be a bit quicker to make using my brand new Big Shot Machine! This card is not one of them but a first attempt! Altered Jewel CD Case to hold a Music/Gift Voucher This Week's Sketch at Just Add Ink With Gift Tag Inside the Case - A Mini Envelope for some Money/Voucher and a 'CD' made from DSP Here's my DT submission for this week's sketch challenge at Just Add Ink . Pick A Petal and Sprinkles Priceless and So Swirly Priceless I should be creating some new stuff (Well I have but that's for JAI and SWAPS for Convention, so I can't post those things just yet!), but my mum's also staying with me at the moment and she's still fast asleep in the spare room, which happens to be my stamp room!! I've spent my early morning browsing through sites and purchased some more templates! I love 3D stuff. Can't wait to find the time to make some of them! Anyway, these cards will have to do for now! It's funny to look back at cards I made a long time ago. Thank goodness a person can improve with practice, although I still have days when nothing seems to go right and my mojo takes a holiday!
